...and it was awesome.
My brother bought this ‘87 MR2, and I gave it a try. I have to say, it’s fantastic for a 29-year-old car that has never been restored. The suspension, steering, transmission work like a dream (however, the brakes feel a bit ineffective). And the little 1.6... it feels a bit weak at first, but once you rev it above 4000 it comes alive and keeps pushing the little chassis.
I wonder what’s it like with the turbocharged engine.

I love mid engined cars. Hard to go back once you have one.

It gives a certain sense of occasion, doesn’t it?

Still haven’t driven one. Would love to.
Non-ABS Toyota brakes are hilarious, right? Just kind of push and pray.

I test-drove a Cayman, mostly in traffic, so meh. I took an MR2 Spyder for a legit test drive, that was great. She really rotated hard, as expected.
I would totes have bought a factory supercharged AW11 if I had found a clean one locally.

They shouldn’t be. My MR2 stops like you’re throwing out anchors. Even my wagon isn’t bad.

The MK1 never had a turbo, but it did come supercharged in 88-89.

It gets better the more and the harder you drive it :D
